In this short story - More than 4 million babies are born in the United States each year, but in the near future, that number is regulated by the government. Babies are created in test tubes, and leased to those deserving. It’s controlled, and safe. Until there’s a glitch in the system, and 1 million leased newborns have to be recalled.

Victor is a Bringer, called upon to go in to the slums and destroy one of the Recalled, but what Victor doesn’t know is that there’s a part of the population hiding a secret, and for a man who has never made a mistake, Victor is about to make the biggest one of them all.

James Melzer has written a vivid short story that puts the reader right into the action, right into the protagonist's thoughts. [RECALL] is a disturbing tale on many levels. A future gone impossibly wrong and a story that is very believable. What I like, is the 'right there' feeling you get as you follow the character on his mission, and then the depth of despair you feel at the end. Good stuff and so worth the .99 cents. I look forward to more stories from Mr. Melzer.

Melzer has written a succinct, brutal story in Recall. I've paid far more than 99 cents for far less story than he;s managed to pack into Recall. Highly recommended.
